Chapter 77 (Main Story Finale): The only thing he wanted, craved — was already in his arms.
“Gao Tu is avoiding me.”
“Oh.”
“I found his sister. The house clearly smelled like his pheromones, but I didn’t see him.”
“Oh.”
“I’ve read an entire New Parents’ Guide. It says Omegas are especially fragile during pregnancy and need an Alpha’s soothing pheromones. Doesn’t Gao Tu need that too?”
…
“Do you think… he might’ve been kidnapped?”
…
“Hello? Hello? Can you hear me? Hello!?”
“You’re really annoying.”
On the other end, Sheng Shaoyou’s voice came through coldly:
“Shen Wenlang, you’re almost thirty — a ‘middle-aged man,’ not a three-year-old toddler. Stop bothering Hua Yong with your personal issues!”
“You’re the one who had a kid at thirty like some old geezer!” Shen Wenlang exploded.
“A few months ago, who was bothering who, huh? Hua Yong — have you forgotten? If it weren’t for my noble spirit of sacrifice, you two would still be single! Who are you two to gang up on me now!?”
“Don’t talk to Sheng like that.” Hua Yong interjected, displeased.
“Of course Gao Secretary is avoiding you. I told you months ago — what’s so surprising?”
“You knew all along that Gao Tu was the Omega that night! Why didn’t you tell me sooner!?”
“I sent you the photo. You didn’t even look at it. If I’d told you outright—” Hua Yong sneered,
“With your level of emotional intelligence, you probably would’ve dragged him off to some claw machine arcade in a fit of panic.”
The line fell silent.
Seeing that Shen Wenlang had deflated, Hua Yong continued:
“Wenlang, given that you grew up in a completely dysfunctional family, I can forgive your tone with me. But—”
He chuckled lightly.
“In terms of broken homes, we’re about the same. But if you ever talk to Sheng like that again, I hope you never find Gao Secretary.”
Shen Wenlang: …
Hua Yong put the call on speaker, blew on the freshly boiled milk to cool it, and held it to Sheng Shaoyou’s lips.
But Sheng Shaoyou, trying to read his files, couldn’t focus at all because of them.
“I don’t want milk.” He set the document down and frowned.
“Hua Yong, you have two options: hang up and go to bed — or take your phone and bother me from the study instead of here.”
“I choose bed.”
Faced with the greatest temptation of all, Hua Yong had no intention of helping Shen Wenlang.
Adhering to his principle of never letting an emotional idiot drag him down, he hung up decisively, slid under the covers, and yawned:
“I’m already going to sleep.”
Sheng Shaoyou couldn’t help but laugh at his childishness.
“Already going to sleep, huh?” he teased.
Hua Yong nodded, eyes glistening as he looked up at him and murmured softly:
“Mm, so sleepy…”
“Oh.”
Sheng Shaoyou closed his folder, feigning disappointment.
“Well, guess we can skip the doctor’s orders then. Today’s Wednesday, and you’ve already exceeded the quota anyway, so we don’t—mmph.”
The young Enigma, who clearly didn’t need any tonics, slipped out from under the covers and sealed his lips with a warm, soft kiss.
The scent of orchids wrapped tightly around the rising aroma of drunken branches — the two pheromones tangled together, seductive and intimate.
The Enigma, peeking out from under the quilt, came at him fiercely, leaving Sheng Shaoyou gasping from the intense kiss.
Clinging to him like a needy cat, soft and warm, exposing his belly, begging to be stroked — his skin pink, so pale it was almost translucent.
Sheng Shaoyou’s lips were kissed into a brilliant, dewy red.
But he didn’t realize just how enticing he looked in the eyes of the lion disguised as a kitten.
The predator gazed down at his prey, fingers lingering on Hua Yong’s sharp chin, enjoying the silky skin.
He smiled faintly and teased:
“If you want it, just say so.”
“I want it.”
Hua Yong pounced immediately, hugging him.
Warmth pressed against him, honest and shameless.
“Sheng, I want it.”
He really was shameless.
All that shy, thin-skinned act from before — all fake.
The identity, the tears — all fake.
Only the blazing, body-warmed love couldn’t lie.
Hua Yong’s hands slid back to the Alpha’s waist — more like a possessive grip than a caress.
The doctor’s worries? Ridiculous.
He was the most eager Enigma in the world to “complete the mission,” diligently nourishing his mate under the pretense of giving their child a stronger cradle.
Perhaps annoyed that his parents refused to go to sleep and kept fighting on the bed, little Peanut kicked his tiny legs in protest.
Sheng Shaoyou couldn’t help but let out a low groan.
His breathy, hoarse voice, the sweat on his temples, every tense muscle in his body — alluring beyond measure.
His lips parted slightly, the nape of his neck giving off a heady scent.
His pheromone gland pulsed hotly, begging to be kissed — which Hua Yong did, as if kissing his very heart.
“Nnng—”
Teeth closed gently but firmly, breaking the skin of the Alpha’s gland not meant to bear marks.
The injection of pheromones was full-force, surging into his blood and making Sheng Shaoyou arch his back instinctively.
Held tightly, in a room thick with pheromones, the diligent Enigma soothed the baby’s cradle to perfection.
Sheng Shaoyou’s face was angular, but his lips were full and inviting — making Hua Yong want to kiss him again and again.
And Hua Yong was a man of action — thinking and doing as one — so he immediately sealed his lips again.
Disturbed by his unruly parents, little Peanut protested once more, raising his tiny hand in a clumsy stretch.
Sheng Shaoyou groaned again, but the kiss was unrelenting, his waist gripped, his body seemingly beyond his control.
Pleasure swirled up like mist, heating his mind until tears welled up and slipped from his half-closed eyes.
His thoughts blurred — he didn’t even know what nonsense he muttered.
At first scolding Hua Yong to slow down, then complaining he was too slow.
Hua Yong, however, didn’t mind — gently coaxing him, kissing his temples and lips.
Both of them — father and son — equally unbearable, equally exhausting.
The little Peanut made him hurt.
The big one made him so tired he couldn’t lift his arms.
Love and being loved were equally addictive — like an impossible-to-kick habit.
While the old doctor worried about Hua Yong’s stamina, it was actually Sheng Shaoyou who couldn’t keep up.
Breathing heavily, eyes barely open, clinging to the cliff’s edge like a struggling climber.
But each time he tried to stop, a feather-light kiss would fall on his cheek, encouraging him on.
Hua Yong was determined to have all of him — like he was the last piece of cake in the world.
And the fragile, rare sweetness melted, dripping to the floor.
Sweat beaded on his spine, kissed away piece by piece, Hua Yong’s lips always gentle no matter how fierce the movements.
At 1 a.m., Sheng Shaoyou pressed his aching waist, cold-faced, and went to the bathroom.
Hua Yong followed sweetly behind, calling “Sheng… Sheng…”
But he was mercilessly shut out of the shower.
Behind the glass, he couldn’t touch him but never stopped watching his hard-won prize.
Water streamed down that beautiful body, waist tapering elegantly.
Through the misty glass, Hua Yong felt parched.
“Sheng, want me to help you?”
Eyes closed under the spray, cheeks flushed, Sheng ignored him.
While he wasn’t looking, Hua Yong quietly slid the door open, stripped off his robe, and pressed up against him.
“Haven’t you had enough?”
Sheng Shaoyou elbowed him.
Enigmas had low pain tolerance — when his gland was pierced before, it had really hurt.
This time, shoved away, he let out a soft “hiss.”
It worked — Sheng’s strength faltered.
With no more resistance, Hua Yong wrapped around him again.
“Shaoyou.”
He used his favorite voice and tone — Sheng froze instinctively.
And sure enough, Hua Yong’s fingers snaked around, his voice sweet as the forbidden fruit of Eden.
“Let’s go again, okay?”
Sheng wanted to say no, but Hua Yong pressed closer, pretending to ask his opinion:
“Okay? Hmm?”
His heart and legs both soft, Sheng couldn’t say either yes or no — only managed to hesitate before being silenced by another kiss.
…
After a long shower, his throat was hoarse from the steam.
His eyes, nose, lips all flushed.
Shoving the shameless “tyrant” of P-country out of the bathroom, Sheng growled:
“Get out. If this keeps up, I won’t be able to work tomorrow.”
“I’ll go for you.”
“Go for me? So you can destroy Shengfang Biotech and let your X Holdings dominate Jianghu?” His eyes sharpened.
But Hua Yong, as always, stayed soft:
“No.”
With zero shame, he looked at Sheng with a fragile, pretty, innocent face and said:
“I don’t want to destroy Shengfang Biotech. I just want to destroy you. You feel so good to hold.”
Sheng prided himself on being thick-skinned — but this man was shameless beyond compare.
Arguing with him was pointless.
Face hot, he finished his shower and came out, skin flushed red from the heat.
Hua Yong had dressed again, his neck and face pink and dewy.
Staring at him with worshipful eyes, he kissed the orchid mark on Sheng’s neck.
“Sheng, you’re so handsome.”
“You’re shameless.”
Hua Yong smiled contentedly:
“Mm. I don’t care. I just want you.”
He didn’t need anything else.
Because the only thing he wanted, craved — was already in his arms.
