As soon as Chi Cheng left, Wu Suowei drove straight to Jiang Xiaoshuai’s place.
Ever since Jiang Xiaoshuai and Guo Chengyu had gotten their “certificate,” the two of them officially started living together. But Jiang didn’t move into Guo’s place, probably thought his house was too big and lacked a homey feel, so he renovated his own place a bit and had Guo move in.
When Wu Suowei arrived, Guo Chengyu hadn’t come back yet. Jiang Xiaoshuai was out on the balcony taking down the dry laundry, some of Guo’s clothes and some of his own.
Wu Suowei curled his lip. “What the hell? You’re telling me you do both of your laundry?”
Jiang Xiaoshuai shook his head. “He washes, I hang and take down.”
Wu Suowei’s forehead was full of black lines.
“Why don’t you just say he washes, hangs, and takes them down, and you just stand there supervising?”
Jiang Xiaoshuai chuckled. “I couldn’t bully him like that.”
“…!!” Wu Suowei bared his teeth. “You think you’re not bullying him already?”
Jiang Xiaoshuai said, “It’s just an automatic washer, you throw it in and it’s done, doesn’t take any effort.”
Wu Suowei was still indignant, because in his and Chi Cheng’s house, whoever was free did the laundry. Sometimes when they were both busy, they’d pile up dozens of pairs of underwear and socks, and once washed and hung out to dry on the balcony, people would think they were running a damn duck shop.
“Have you eaten?” Jiang Xiaoshuai asked.
Wu Suowei shook his head. “Nope.”
“Perfect. I haven’t eaten yet either. Stay here and eat,” Jiang said. “There’s food in the fridge, just heat it up.”
Wu Suowei rubbed his hands. “Well, that sounds great.”
Jiang Xiaoshuai turned and headed into the kitchen.
Wu Suowei asked, “Guozi’s not coming back to eat?”
“He went to his parents’ place today.”
As he spoke, Jiang Xiaoshuai took out plate after plate of food from the fridge and put them in the microwave.
Wu Suowei leaned over and sniffed. “This isn’t leftovers, is it?”
“Nope. Guozi cooked it before he went to work this afternoon.”
Wu Suowei froze in shock. “What? Guozi can cook?”
“Yeah,” Jiang Xiaoshuai replied seriously. “He learned to cook a long time ago. Didn’t you know? His parents raised him like a daughter. Because his dad wanted a daughter, but back then family planning was strict, and his dad was a cadre, so he never got his wish.”
Wu Suowei couldn’t help but sweat. My god, if raising him as a daughter already turned him out like this, imagine if they’d raised him as a son, he’d be even more of a man’s man!
At dinner, Wu Suowei took just two bites and couldn’t go on, not because it tasted bad, but because it was too good. So good it made him envious to the point of hatred.
“Why aren’t you eating?” Jiang Xiaoshuai asked.
Wu Suowei scowled. “When you eat other people’s food, you can’t talk tough.”
“Damn it!!” Jiang Xiaoshuai smacked him on the back of the head. “Like you haven’t eaten enough of my food before? If what you said were true, your mouth would have melted into water by now.”
Wu Suowei didn’t get it. “What’s wrong with you? He’s not even here for dinner tonight, couldn’t you just grab something casual? Why does he have to make it in advance and leave it in the fridge? You’re really high-maintenance!”
“That’s not on me!” Jiang Xiaoshuai wore a wronged expression. “I didn’t even know he made it, I only saw it when I opened the fridge after coming home tonight.”
Wu Suowei gritted his teeth so hard they squeaked. “Don’t get too cocky, you bastard!”
Jiang Xiaoshuai burst out laughing. “Honestly, though, he’s not always this attentive, it depends on his mood. When he’s in a good mood, he does everything. When he’s in a bad mood, who knows.”
“Does he even have bad moods?” Wu Suowei asked, holding his chopsticks.
“Nope.”
Wu Suowei nearly broke his own teeth in frustration, snapping,
“Then why even bring up bad moods!!”
Jiang Xiaoshuai spread his hands. “That’s why I said, who knows!”
Wu Suowei stopped eating, grabbed Jiang by the shoulders, and bit him through his shirt.
Jiang Xiaoshuai squirmed away, laughing, nearly knocking over the whole table of dishes.
“Cut it out!” He scolded his disciple. “Eat your damn food.”
Wu Suowei acted up. “I don’t want to eat, I just want to bite you.”
Jiang Xiaoshuai poked Wu Suowei’s forehead. “Don’t you start acting horny with me. I just barely forgot about your big ass.”
Wu Suowei snorted coldly at some memory.
“Who manages your money?” he asked.
Jiang Xiaoshuai said, “He manages his, I manage mine. We keep our finances separate.”
Wu Suowei finally found something to feel superior about and slammed the table.
“I manage all of his money!!”
Jiang Xiaoshuai laughed himself silly. “Alright, alright, just eat.”
This time, Wu Suowei finally had an appetite.
“Eat more,” Jiang Xiaoshuai said, picking food into his bowl.
