Liu Xuancheng: A Shining Journey

At Paris Fashion Week, a young man from the East stood out remarkably. He first appeared at the show wearing a tweed overcoat and tailored suit from the Thom Browne 2026 Pre-Fall collection. The composure, elegance, and distinctive aura he carried drew the attention of fashion media from around the world. His look was even praised by various outlets as that of a “plaid romantic poet.”

Afterward, he wore Yuima Nakazato’s Fall/Winter 2025 haute couture for a fashion editorial shoot, allowing even more people to witness his remarkable flair for fashion.

This young man is none other than the rising popular actor Liu Xuancheng.
In early October, he arrived in romantic Paris together with F Fashion Magazine, and with that, a fashion journey woven with dreams, poetry, and beauty officially began. Throughout this trip, as the packed schedule unfolded, we talked about the city of Paris and also explored topics of growth. In doing so, we came to understand the real Liu Xuancheng on a deeper level.
Interview Translation:
Q: What’s your impression of Paris?
Liu Xuancheng : Oh, there are so many. I’ve been paying attention to Paris since last year, and I’ve also been listening to a song about Paris all this time. I’ve always really, really longed to come to this place. It truly feels like a dream, my dream has really come true. The moment I arrived and saw the streets and the culture, I was quite amazed. It felt like something out of my dreams had come to life. It’s just so beautiful, so stunning. I really love it.
Q: Can you share an experience that left a deep impression on you, maybe a person you met on the street or a particular moment?
Liu Xuancheng: I’ve been observing how everyone dresses, and I think everyone has their own unique style. Or maybe it’s the confidence in their posture, or the grace in the way they walk. I think that’s something very characteristic of Paris and something I really like. But if you ask what’s the most eye-catching, maybe it’s someone sitting in a corner with a dog, just soaking in the sunlight and breathing the air, blending perfectly into the scenery. I think capturing that would feel very special.
Q: What’s your biggest takeaway from this Fashion Week? Did you get any new inspiration for styling?
Liu Xuancheng: Yes, my look. For today’s outfit, I’ll give everyone a little tip. Can you tell? I think my outfit coordination has improved a bit, but still, fashion is its own discipline, and I’ve got a bit more to learn.
Paris left Liu Xuancheng with memories that were diverse and richly layered.

Paris Fashion Week has always been regarded as a “concept laboratory” in the fashion world. It not only provides inspiration and direction for future design trends, but also serves as a form of flowing cultural performance art. Designers use clothing as a medium to express their deep reflections on contemporary issues. Immersed in such an intense fashion atmosphere, Liu Xuancheng greatly broadened his own perspective on style and gained a new, multidimensional understanding of fashion culture.
However, for him, what Paris gave him went far beyond fashion alone. In the city’s streets and alleyways, the everyday charm infused with a sense of romanticism captivated him just as deeply.
“Beneath the city’s slow pace and its glamorous exterior, you might see someone sitting quietly in a corner with a lovely little dog, simply feeling the sunlight and the flow of the air. Their silhouette blends so naturally with the surrounding scenery. I think if you captured that moment on camera, the image would be incredibly poetic.”

We asked him, “If you were to come to Paris purely for a vacation, how would you begin your trip?”
Without hesitation, he replied, “I would choose a rather special restaurant and go in when it opens in the morning. I’d order some light bites and sit there until noon. Then I’d move to another place for lunch and stay there into the afternoon, just changing locations like that, immersing myself in the slow rhythm of the city and truly taking in everything I see in the moment. That would be the first thing I’d want to do.
The second would be to record what I’ve experienced, so I can slowly savor it on my own later, or share it with everyone or with my family.”

Liu Xuancheng spoke thoughtfully about his ideas, his eyes filled with longing. He is a sensitive and attentive young man, someone who can find the most genuine things in everyday life. A person like this is destined to receive even more of the surprises that life has to offer.
Interveiw Translation:
Q: Could you tell us about your recent plans?
Liu Xuancheng: After returning from Paris, I’ll have some work arrangements, but I’ll also take some time to adjust my condition, there might be some jet lag, so I want to stay in good shape for work. Also, I’ll be taking some classes and learning a lot of new things. I’ll reflect on my experiences in Paris and summarize what’s worth learning from them.
Q: What is your biggest challenge at the moment?
Liu Xuancheng: Sleeping has been a bit difficult.
Q: What stage of life do you think you’re in right now?
Liu Xuancheng: I feel like I’ve transitioned from being a student to entering society. As a student, life was more carefree, you only needed to focus on studying. But once you step into society, the responsibilities on your shoulders grow heavier, and there are more things to think about and care about.

“I don’t have a very clear concept of what growth really means. Maybe it’s because of my age or my experiences. My growth seems to have happened in an instant.”
This is Liu Xuancheng’s understanding of growth, simple and sincere.
Along the way, Liu Xuancheng has always been quite independent. He has his own plans and continues to work hard in accordance with them. Of course, his family and team have also been very supportive of his decisions, which has allowed him to move step by step closer to his dreams.

Interview Translation:
Q: How do you view growth? At this stage of your life, what has been your biggest growth?
Liu Xuancheng: I don’t have a very clear concept of what “growth” really means. Maybe it’s because of my age or my experiences. My growth seems to have happened in an instant. For example, around this time last year I was still in school, living a student’s life surrounded by teachers and classmates. Then suddenly, I stepped out of that world, and now I have to face everyone in a professional state of mind.
Q: From last year to this year, what has been your biggest growth?
Liu Xuancheng: I feel that my inner self has become stronger. At first, I didn’t really know how strong I was inside, or what my core even was. But after seeing certain comments, I did some self-reflection and mental adjustment, and came to truly understand myself. I realized that I’ve actually grown much stronger inside.
Q: Along your journey so far, who has had the greatest influence on you? What kind of impact did he or she have?
Liu Xuancheng: There isn’t really one specific person who made that happen. I’ve always been pretty independent. My entry into this industry was entirely my own choice. My family was supportive, they didn’t try to hold me back, they just gave me a gentle push forward. But all the decisions and actions came from me. Still, the people who are most important to me now are probably my team. They’ve been the ones who’ve helped me the most through this stage of my journey.
Q: In a previous interview, you mentioned that since you were little, your dream has been “to become an actor.” What inspired that dream? Was it a person or a particular work?
Liu Xuancheng: Before, I didn’t have much of a concept of what it meant to be an actor or an artist. I didn’t think it was that real. I used to think that you had to start acting from a young age to appear on the big screen one day, that’s how I always understood it. The first step for me to reach this point was actually through art itself. I wanted to explore and feel art, so I took the art entrance exams. And through that, I saw how students could really stand in front of everyone and appear on screen through their own effort. That’s what made me decide to persist and work hard for it.
Q: Do you still remember your first experience on set? What was that feeling like?
Liu Xuancheng: Honestly, I was a bit naive back then, just kind of clueless and innocent. Everyone around me was steadily doing their own work, while I was observing everything. It was my first time joining a film crew, and I didn’t want to make any mistakes. So all I could do was observe, how people moved, how they looked at the camera, how they interacted with their scene partners. After I watched and learned, I could finally step forward with confidence. For a first time actor, the only way not to mess up and to avoid slowing others down is to learn and observe as much as possible.

Like many others, Liu Xuancheng’s dream of becoming an actor first stemmed from his admiration for art. He saw people who, through relentless effort, were able to stand before the public and step onto the stages they had long dreamed of.
So he set a clear and determined goal for himself: to take the arts entrance exam, study acting, and ultimately become an actor, so that through various film and television works, he could experience different lives.

At this point in the conversation, we also talked about the first time he stepped onto a film set.
“At that time, I felt quite inexperienced. Everyone on set was carrying out their tasks in an orderly way, keeping the production moving smoothly. As a newcomer, the only thing I could really do was carefully observe the people around me. Since it was my first time joining a crew, I was especially worried about making mistakes, so I put extra effort into learning.
If I encountered someone playing a similar type of role, I would carefully watch their performance and learn from it. When you’re new on set, the only way to avoid mistakes, and to make sure you don’t slow down the entire team’s progress, is to observe more and learn more.”
Liu Xuancheng truly places great importance on learning while on set. Even when it isn’t his turn to film, he never relaxes. Instead, he pays close attention to other actors’ blocking, the camera angles, and the techniques used to coordinate with scene partners. It is through this thorough observation and study that, when he finally stands in front of the camera himself, he feels much more confident and assured.

On the day of the magazine cover shoot, there was a small but heartwarming moment worth sharing. During a location change, the team encountered a local Parisian family of three who were very fond of Liu Xuancheng, especially their child, who looked at him with a bright, friendly smile. Seeing this, Liu Xuancheng took the initiative to walk over and take a photo with the child. The little one skipped away happily afterward, and Liu Xuancheng’s face lit up with a pure, childlike smile in return.
Everyone present at the time was deeply touched by the scene. Liu Xuancheng later said that he hopes everyone who likes him can be happy.

Although Liu Xuancheng said in the interview that he does not yet have a very clear concept of growth, in truth, after witnessing his journey in Paris, we have already seen in him many qualities that reflect a continuous effort toward self-growth, both the determination to run forward with courage and the bravery to slow down and savor life’s beauty.
Liu Xuancheng, the future is full of promise!
